Compete to win a place on the Ultimate Field Trip 2010
BP operates at the frontiers of geography and technology. We want to give you
the chance to experience what we do fi rst hand.
The Ultimate Field Trip 2010 is a team competition where the winners will get
the chance to spend six to eight weeks on a paid internship with our operations
in the North Sea; opportunities include visiting one of our offshore platforms, an
overseas trip to Norway and our 3D visualisation centre in Aberdeen, Scotland.
How to take part
The 2010 competition refl ects BP’s 100 year heritage of innovation in science
and technology. We’re setting a real-life challenge that is currently being debated
widely; CO2 emissions.
BP accepts the fi ndings of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
that global warming is unequivocal and ‘very likely’ due to human activity.
We’re working hard on solutions to this problem.
This competition gives you the chance to study the issues and come up with
new ideas about how to reduce or eliminate CO2 emissions from gas-fi red
power stations. We want you to use your imagination – we’ll be looking for
innovative thinking.
To take part, you’ll need to get a team of three people together, register on our
website bp.com/fi eldtrip and we’ll send you an email to confi rm what to do next
and how to submit your entry.
If you get through the fi rst round, you’ll take part in a regional semi-fi nal.
From this we’ll choose the best teams to go through to the grand fi nal in London,
where industry leaders will judge the entries.
