Google’s mission is to organise the world’s information, making it university accessible and useful and while they’re still committed to building the perfect search engine, their work goes well beyond delivering accurate search results. Whether it’s developing new business strategies, enhancing customer happiness, building complex financial models or bringing products to market, there are plenty of opportunities at Google that don’t require programming skills.

They hire for positions across many non-technical fields including media, advertising, sales, general management, marketing, communications and partnership development.

Googler's backgrounds also vary enormously. Some started there right after university; others came after spending time at other companies. Their strategy is simple - hire great people with diverse qualifications and interest, and support them in turning their aspirations into reality.

Technical Opportunities

At Google’s Engineering centres in Europe, most people who join them straight out of university (whether PhD, Masters or undergraduate), do so after completing an internship with them. Therefore, if you are interested in full-time opportunities, please consider applying for an internship. And regardless of whether you’re eventually offered a full-time role for Google, they are more than confident that your internship will be a rewarding experience that will develop your ability to programme at a global scale, and deepen your understanding of Computer Science.

As an Engineering Intern, you have the opportunity to work on small, dynamic teams to impact the lives of millions of users around the world. You’ll work with a pre-assigned host, who will help find projects that are right for you. If you apply for a job in Europe, then Google will consider you for projects in a number of locations around Europe, and if you need to move for the duration of your internship, then they will help you with that. If you want to work in either Russia or Israel, then please apply for the roles listed in those countries.

To be eligible for an internship, you should be returning to university afterward, or the internship should be a formal part of completing your studies. Google Engineering internships are typically full-time positions, are paid, and take place year-round. Start and end dates are flexible, with a minimum duration of three months.
