Majestic Wine are the UK’s largest by-the-case wine retailer with over 140 stores nationwide. The staff are highly-trained and the envy of the rest of the wine trade. With over 800 wines in each store they not only specialise in offering their customers a fantastic range, but also great advice, free tasting all year round and free delivery. At Majestic you will start out as a Trainee Manager at one of its stores across mainland Britain. Majestic provides practical hands-on experience, one-day courses, coaching from your team and study for a formal qualification from The Wine & Spirit Education Trust; you will be learning constantly. A key part of the learning process is experiencing other stores across the country. Each is different in terms of size, layout and customer base; and each will increase your understanding of the business. Of course, your responsibilities will also grow along with your ability, and progress here is often swift. Within three years, you should have moved on from Trainee Manager to Assistant Manager and then Manager. They offer one-year Retail Management Placements in their stores. During your placement you will work in two different stores so you build an appreciation of different aspects of the business and hone your retail skills.
