Purpose of the job
Anobii is building a major new web application. Targeted at a wide range of platforms, but especially the latest mobile- and tablet-based browsers, this will be an extremely rich, dynamic site that takes advantage of the cutting-edge web technologies. To achieve this, we’ll need someone with world-class HTML, CSS and Javascript skills to join our front end team working against our newly created API-driven back end.

Responsibilities

    Work from a combination of wireframes, full page designs and a comprehensive style guide to produce fully functional web pages/web applications
    Work closely with back end PHP development team to integrate pages with our MVC architecture + API back end
    Help to create a maintainable template structure with appropriate page, CSS and JS architecture
    Champion high-quality semantic markup and adherence to web standards



Experience
Demonstrable real-world experience of the following essential:

    Expert-level HTML + CSS, including exposure to HTML 5 and CSS 3
    Building large, rich client applications in Javascript
    Standards compliance and accessibility
    Working on significant size site builds with multiple front-end developers
    Front end performance optimisation
    Photoshop or equivalent tool as required for application/extension of existing designs
    Mobile web development experience (at least Android + Safari)
    Version control systems (ideally Git or equivalent) + basic familiarity with LAMP-stack toolset
    Unit testing/Selenium experience a bonus

    Pixel-level attention to detail
    High-quality engineering approach
    Ability to work well in a team environment
    Ability to communicate with other employees in the company in both technical and non-technical roles, across different locations and timezones
    Ability to collaborate with third party partners
    To be conscious of the requirement for on-going security and to apply it as appropriate
