CHP Consulting is a leading international provider of software and consulting services to the global asset finance industry, planning and implementing business transformation projects for leading clients in each sector of the industry. Their methods of facilitating asset finance, vehicle finance and consumer finance operations in leading companies have been adopted across the industry, and they have a proven record of completing projects without overrunning budget or time-limits. CHP has been named in The Sunday Times's Best 100 Small Companies to Work For in 2005 and 2006, and was awarded Best Companies Accreditation in 2007. CHP prides itself on not having the average corporate culture, recognising instead that it has to build itself on its employees to be succesful. To this end, CHP encourages established staff at every level to share their experience and knowledge with new joiners – you can expect to speak to company directors at interview. Although most work is done on site with clients, the company still ensures that staff return to the London office once a week and see their colleagues, a principle that fosters a strong sense of community. Additionally, there are many clubs and societies run by staff which are devoted to sports and other pastimes, as well as events sponsored by the company. If you can show a continuous exemplary academic record in any discipline, then CHP would like to hear from you. The roles on offer are ideal for anyone who wants to combine IT skills with consulting, though initial technical expertise is definitely not a prerequisite for success – you need only a desire to learn.
A five-week induction course readies graduates for future responsibilities, and provides an easy transition into your new role. From there, there is a two-year training course that from the outset gives plenty of personal involvement with projects and clients, and provides ample opportunity to mature. CHP Consulting provides excellent opportunities for self-development, and are recognised for this by Investors in People. Training People who have an excellent academic record should apply. This means a 2:1 or above in any discipline (but from a good university), and As and Bs at A-Level - or the equivalent. If you can show a continuous exemplary academic record, then you can be taught everything you need to know. ‘Through the first few years of your career, you can expect to work on the different parts of our standard project lifecycle. The usual starting place will be learning to develop our product; so you'll be doing software development on the client site. This gives you an understanding of what the product is doing, while allowing you to get to grips with the technologies we use and the finance or business side of the role. After this you'll move through software design, user acceptance testing, training, data migration, requirements gathering and business process re-engineering.’ All consultants go through standard induction in order to get to grips with the industry, the technologies used and the ways of working at CHP Consultancy. Career ‘We only hire the most talented graduates and professionals. All CHP consultants operate in all areas of the business, from preliminary client contact and requirements definition right through to manning the support desk.’ ‘We ensure all our staff develop and maintain excellent all-round expertise.’
