The graduate programme in the UK comprises of five placements within the group’s main business functions: Global Markets, Corporate & Institutional Banking, Structured Finance, Commodity Finance or Private Equity. You will receive on-the-job training in that specialisation, to ensure you make the right career choices at Fortis after your training programme ends. During the fifteen-month period, you will also get the chance to broaden your horizons and gain greater insight into the Merchant Banking business. Besides on-the-job training, and you own mentor, you will follow a varied package of professional and personal development courses, which will give you the opportunity to carry out a project abroad and to acquire work experience at a business other than Merchant Banking. Ultimately, the programme will provide you with specialist and general expertise plus an extensive network of contacts, since you will share much of your training with Fortis associates from other specialisations and countries.
