When we were appointed as the official legal services provider to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games in February 2009, it was a first. No single law firm had taken up such a role before. We had an idea of what would be involved, having helped the London 2012 bid in September 2003 and carried out some pro bono work after that, but the scale and seven-year timescale of the task is unusual in its scope.
