40 Stunningly Creative Resume Designs on DeviantArt
Recently I wrote an article on resume/CV templates available for free, or to purchase, from all across the web. They ranged from print media, to fully fledged, CMS run pages. That's all fine and well, and they are all fantastic templates, but what if you want to express yourself through your CV?

Nadiya PyzikThis is very cool! I have actually been doing a lot of research into CVs because an aspect of my job is to organize CV and cover letter workshops for university students. I have been looking into recent trends and tips for young jobseekers in today's competitive and technologically advanced environment. A lot of articles focused on branding yourself, integrating creativity, showing your personality, demonstrating a positive attitude, highlighting skills such as social media, international experience, languages, and ability to work with a diverse team. Does anyone have further suggestions?- 11th August 2012

Maja ObucinaA CV has to make you stand out - which is why personal branding is the buzz word but in my view there's a danger in following the trends because everyone is following them :-)
It all, always, boils down to WHO is reading your CV. They decide to bin it or call you for an interview.
The wise thing (it's an old wisdom though but I think still valid) is to tweak your CV EVERY time you apply for another job - to bring out, highlight things relevant to THAT particualr job.
The trouble with CVs - like anything we feel it's representative of who we are - is that we end writing a CV WE love (it becomes our "baby" :-), which is NOT the same as the employer loving it :-) In fact, more often than not they don't like it - nothing personal, it's just not relevant.
Although what I posted here is SO BEAUTIFUL :-) most mainstream, conventional employers will send it straight into the bin :-)
The key with CV writing is to work out what the employer wants and make it SO obvious at the very beginning of the page so they keep reading it :-)
The book on CVs that opened my eyes many years ago was the first edition of this book - this is an updated edition, and it's American, but it's very good indeed.
