Have you tried meditating?I am trying but haven't made it to concentrate for 20 minutes yet...

This morning, like every morning, I sat cross-legged on a cushion on the floor, rested my hands on my knees, closed my eyes, and did nothing but breathe for 20 minutes. People say the hardest part about meditating is finding the time to meditate. This makes sense: who these days has time to do nothing?

if yes, does it positively influence your decisions?

I'm getting back into meditating. I have a similar experience as the author outlines - much better concentration with less distractions from shiny objects (like BraneNewTalent). Though its not really possible to think about nothing. I use a technique where you focus on breathing, counting each breath in and out. Count until you reach 10, then start over. When you're good at it, you can count each inhale-exhale pair as one breath. When you focus like this on breathing, its easy to ignore all else. The hardest part is breathing naturally.

Thanks Melissa, what do you mean with trying to breath naturally?I'm also curious to know whether that had an effect on your decisions or improved some of your skills :)

When you start counting your breaths in and out, its hard to just do it naturally - at least for me. I start to feel like it is forced or something like this. I would say - effect on decisions or skills, not that I could find or notice. It really boosted my concentration, so I was really really productive. Which is why I'm starting again. Just building slowly instead of using a timer to get the 20 mins in. Its very refreshing.
