Know what you're the best at; go where you can shine. That is one of my favorite pieces of career advice, especially good for anyone who's just starting in a field. Or perhaps you prefer this approach: Play to your strengths.

I work for a strengths based organisation - and this is so true. Starting out on your career is pretty tough - but being able to begin to understand your strengths can also help you understand which direction to take.

Totally agree. Most people tend to think they know what they want, and which field they want to work in, and put all their energies in it, but often this is only an "idealization" of their dream job and, by doing this, they miss the opportunity of doing something they are actually ace at. Lately I have discovered that it's crucial to find out what you are really good at vs what you think you are good at in order to really progress. Only once we find out what our strengths are, that's the moment when we can develop those strengths and, as a result, progress in our career.
