Serena RizzoI see it this way: now that there are more hiring and talent finding tools, it takes less recruiters to accomplish the job. However, this doesn't mean that recruiters will disappear anytime soon.- 24th October 2012

Bill FanningI actually see a very positive upside to how recruiters function in today's market - the technology and tools a recruiter needs in their toolbox today is more complex then ever - a recruiter who masters these skills can bring tremendous value to any company - and will always be needed. I think they will be needed even more!

Serena RizzoStill don't agree with the number of recruiters increasing. I guess time will tell;) But I do agree with saying that these tools can only be a positive and powerful addition for the recruiter.
And as a result, the combination of recruiter + these tools is incredibly powerful.- 24th October 2012

Bill FanningOh yes, I am with you - the numbers will decrease over time because the reach of technology will reduce the physical headcount need. But, for those who maintain the right skill-set - you will be a highly valuable resource in a slightly shrinking market.
This article also highlights that - I think it is an interesting consideration as people continue their education around their profession.
