In simple terms, we help other organisations make the most of new technology. Whether it’s through our technical expertise in IT and systems integration or our groundbreaking consultancy and Global Service Delivery, our ultimate objective is always the same: to help clients capitalise on new technology to achieve their business goals.
With around 39,000 people across 36 countries we’re a major international force in IT and business services. In the UK alone we employ more than 6,000 people across 23 locations. What’s more, the scope of our work is as impressive as our scale. We carry out business consulting, systems integration, and IT and business process outsourcing across a range of business sectors:
Energy, Utilities & Telecoms (EUT)
Commercial, Transport and Financial Services (CTF)
Public Sector
Space & Defence (S & D)

We don’t just develop technology for the sake of it. The whole point is to get beneath the skin of our clients in order to find effective solutions to specific business problems. Sometimes that means inventing new technologies. But it can also involve applying existing technologies in new and innovative ways.
As the projects we undertake often call on more than one area of expertise, and as we need to respond to the needs of a wide range of clients, the work we do is organised into a number of ‘vertical’ and ‘horizontal’ businesses.
Our ‘vertical’ businesses serve specific market sectors, combining technical expertise and industry knowledge to deliver solutions tailored to each client's individual needs. Our ‘horizontal’ businesses, on the other hand, offer a range of IT services and solutions that can be applied equally effectively to any of these vertical markets. Of course, there are certain things we look for in all our new recruits. For most areas of our work, you need a good degree in computer science or a similar numerate subject. But providing you have a genuine interest in technology, there are some areas of our business you can join with a non-technical degree.
Just as important as your practical skills, however, are the personal attributes you bring. An inquisitive mind. A flexible approach. An ability to build relationships with clients and function well as part of a team. All these qualities are essential to our work. So they’re the qualities we’ll be looking for in you.
