As a new consultant with McKinsey, you can expect between five and eight weeks of training in your first two years. This will come from a mix of firm-wide and office-led learning. Some of the firm-wide trainings you can expect in your first year are:
Basic Consulting Readiness
This is a weeklong course for new consultants and it teaches McKinsey’s problem-solving approach and knowledge-management techniques.
Mini-MBA
This programme is for associates who join the firm with advanced degrees but without substantial business training. It is an intensive, 3-week course in the core skills of a business school curriculum. You will gain experience with basic analytic tools and frameworks, and lay the groundwork for exercising sound business judgment. As a graduate, you begin your career at McKinsey as an associate. This programme will engrain an understanding of creative problem-solving , combining technical and analytical excellence. This will give you a foundation of tools and skills.
