At Newton, we work hands-on with forward thinking organisations around the world to help them get more out of their operational processes and supply chains. Our people are talented graduates with an analytical mind-set, not management consultants, so we’re able to identify issues that limit cost, delivery and quality performance, and then implement practical solutions that rapidly generate measurable, sustainable financial returns – from the factory floor up.
With a track record of delivering 10-50% operational improvement in two to six months without any capital expenditure, we’re paid on the results we achieve, not the number of reports we write. It’s the intelligent way to unlock the potential within a business.
When you join Newton, you join an organisation with high expectations. Our clients hire us to deliver rapid improvements in operational performance and we recruit people that enjoy meeting demanding challenges and want to work in a dynamic, high reward environment. You’ll be working with bright, driven people on exciting projects across multiple sectors. And you’ll be delivering bottom line improvements for a wide variety of clients and industries within your first year.
We offer structured, rapid career progression that involves taking responsibility for your own projects very early on. Typically, within three to four years you can expect to be a Lead Consultant, managing a team to deliver results in a large, site-wide improvement process. At the same time, there’s a culture of openness, support and problem sharing, so whatever your position, help and advice from experienced Consultants and Directors is always on hand. You’ll learn fast and during the early part of your career your development will be guided by one-to-one mentoring from the Lead Consultant on site. We have a formal appraisal process every six months to identify your strengths, address any weaknesses and plan your skill development. You’ll also attend in-depth courses off site, designed to build your confidence and expertise in specific areas such as sales and marketing, project finance or production planning.
The Newton lifestyle is exhilarating, providing the chance to work in locations across the UK and abroad, as well as first-class remuneration. Most of the working week is spent on site, based in good hotels or high quality rented accommodation. Our people are energetic, enthusiastic and committed
to their work. But we also value our weekends and free time, so we ensure that wherever you’re working, you’ll leave in time to be home for 6pm on Friday evening. And we never work weekends.
Company development is by way of bi-weekly review meetings, where the whole company gathers to share project results, discuss problems, run through future plans and pass on new ideas and techniques. We also arrange activity days every quarter, as well as Christmas and summer parties which partners are encouraged to attend. We are actively involved in Engineers Without Borders UK – a student-led charity focused on removing barriers to development using engineering. As one of our consultants, you may have the opportunity to become involved with training EWB volunteers, as well as supporting and visiting them in their placement programmes around the world.
At Newton, our people are our biggest asset. We employ first class engineers, scientists, mathematicians and graduates from numerate disciplines, with the drive, determination and people skills to work with, inspire and lead client teams to success. Since Newton was established, we’ve achieved over 40% growth every year and have even bigger plans for the future. We are looking for people that can quickly take on responsibility, and have the entrepreneurial skills and personality to progress with us. As well as outstanding academic qualifications, we look for people who have excellent personal skills, who embrace our unique culture and who really enjoy what they do.
