REED Graduates

 Reed was founded on May 7th 1960 when Alec Reed, then aged 26, opened the first Reed branch in Hounslow, West London. He started with just £75 and worked alone for a year. Since then the company has grown organically into one of the UK’s largest private businesses with over 3,000 employees and 300 branches nationwide. In the early 1960s Reed pioneered specialist recruitment services, a move which fundamentally changed the UK recruitment market. Today, with over 20 specialist recruitment divisions, the provision of temporary and permanent staff remains a core focus. Reed Graduates is a specialist division of Reed, which aims to provide the best match for its candidates and clients alike. As part of the UK’s leading independent recruitment company, its network of specialist graduate consultants is able to provide advice and guidance with the benefit of in-depth knowledge of the current labour market for graduates. They have established relationships with hundreds of employers, from large blue-chip organisations recruiting for graduate schemes to smaller companies looking for outstanding graduates. Reed Graduates has grown to establish branches in London, Manchester and Edinburgh, and continues successfully to place graduates across the UK. Reed is looking to recruit high-calibre graduates to work for them through their industry-leading graduate training scheme (GTS). Although probably best known as experts within the field of recruitment, they are leading players across the spectrum of HR services, including HR consultancy and outsourcing, training, welfare to work and online recruitment. Although many of the graduate trainees enjoy billing lots of money and therefore concentrate on recruitment careers, the GTS scheme also offers graduate opportunities in marketing, training, human resources, accountancy, sales, systems development and charity management. The three-year training programme includes three, year-long placements which will give you the opportunity to work in a variety of these roles across all seven of the Reed sister companies. All graduates are given the opportunity to study towards a variety of professional qualifications, for example an MA from Durham University or accredited membership of CIPD or CIMA. Their internal training, delivered by Reed Training, also helps develop the skills needed to become future managers, from sales and negotiation to time management and presentation delivery.
