Royal Mail

  • Royal Mail provides an essential public service relied upon by communities and businesses all over the country.
  • The Royal Group has achieved some pretty amazing things. They introduced stamps to the world. The Royal Mail can deliver a package from one end of the country to the other for less than the cost of a pint of milk. They can decipher even the worst addressed letters – to the house with the red door on the new housing estate in Plumpton, for example. If we’re to maintain our leading position in a marketplace that’s becoming more competitive by the day, we need to add to the 180,000 talented people we already have. We need ambitious individuals who’ll bring fresh ideas and a determination to make an impact on a business that touches the lives of millions every day.

  • Our Graduate Programme Royal Mail Group Ltd is a government owned public limited company which last year generated revenue of £6.8 billion. But that doesn’t quite tell the whole story of an organisation that has become part of the very fabric of public life.  Did you know, for example, that we introduced stamps to the world? It might not be surprising to hear that we deliver to every home and business in the country – no matter how remote – but did you know that we use everything from planes, boats, trains, trucks, vans, bikes and foot power to do it? We also run the post room at the Palace of Westminster and produce a number of special issue stamps every year, all of which are approved personally by the Queen.    A few more facts that might surprise you You’ve had a taste of how diverse and rich in heritage our business is. Now let’s talk size and scope. We employ more than 180,000 people who provide hundreds of services ranging from electronic billing to banking, and warehousing to customer returns. Through the Post Office™, Royal Mail and Parcelforce Worldwide, along with our global distribution mail and logistical partnerships, we collect, process and deliver more than 80 million items to 27 million addresses every day. What does it mean for you? Put simply, it means we can offer you opportunities few other organisations can. We provide an essential service to millions, and we’re in an increasingly exciting and competitive market place. With your talent and ambition and our professional development programmes, we’re confident that, together, we can maintain and build on our leading position in this market.     Our Graduate Programmes We currently have four graduate programmes: Operations, Marketing, Sales & Customer Services, Human Resources and Finance. All offer you the chance to work in up to three different positions, gaining first-hand experience of our brands, strategies, and processes. You’ll also be able to develop your leadership skills and a network of contacts that will prove invaluable as you move into senior management.  But don’t just take our word for it. We could go on and on about how great we think our graduate programmes are. However, we think it might be more beneficial, not to mention real, if you heard from the people who’ve experienced them first-hand. To meet some of our recent graduates, watch the video below.
