Market Research
Market research is a tool which businesses use to gain knowledge about the market and the consumers.
In general, more quantitative research will require more technical skills, while the qualitative research will require softer skills. For example, if you are involved in the evaluation of surveys it’s likely that a statistical or mathematical qualification is useful, but if involved in writing the survey, then a subject such as psychology or sociology could be relevant. A large amount of skill is learned in-job, so a degree can be more important in demonstrating your potential to learn than demonstrating your knowledge on a particular subject. Although mostly a graduate-led industry, there are routes into market research available if the right courses have been completed.
Charlie Elise Duff - It can be, I agree, but you also do market research before you launch a product. Would you say user testing is a part of market research?...
