The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) defines intellectual property (IP) as “creations of the mind: inventions, literary and artistic works, and symbols, names, images, and designs used in commerce.”
Intellectual Property is an intangible form of property. It refers to the broad collection of exclusive rights given to persons over the creations of their minds. This legal protection aims at protecting intellectual creativity and innovations in order to participate to the economic and community effort. Intellectual property is generally given for a limited time period. It is any innovation, commercial or artistic, any unique name, symbol, logo or design used for commercial purpose.
