    August 2007 to April 2009

    A Category C Prison with approximately 750 prisoners. My role was based in the Offender Management Unit dealing with a caseload of 100 prisoners.

     Managing prisoner cases from when they are transferred to the prison until their sentence expires in line with government policies.
     Organising Parole, HDC, Recalls, Lifers, Foreign Nationals, Extended Sentences, Vulnerable Prisoners and many other sectors.
     To ensure that all relevant opportunities are made available to the prisoner including offender related courses, educational courses, work placements and therapy.
     Liaising with outside agencies including the courts, probation, solicitors and the police as well as hostels, charities and healthcare professionals.

    Since taking the role, the business has moved premises. This was a large project, moving 400 staff from two different sites. My role played a big part in the amalgamation and incorporation of a large number of new procedures, computer systems and security measures.

    Since taking over as Manager, I trebled the intake of staff, lowered staff turnover. Negotiated higher charge and pay rates.
    I built up a great rapport with both the staff and the management team and ran as one of the best contracts the company had in operation.
