Michael Woods
I am a 20 year old, first year Law student at QMUL from Dedham, Essex. I have a real passion for sports, most notably Rugby, but also travel
I am a first year undergraduate Law student at Queen Mary University of London. As a keen rugby referee and player, I have worked closely with Colchester Rugby club for several years volunteering as a coach with one age group and refereeing youth games on every Sunday at the club before starting University. Whilst being at University I have continued my refereeing within the London Society of Rugby Football Union Referees and have being included into their developmental Academy system. As well as rugby, and sport in general, I am interested in travelling and volunteer work. At the age of 17, with the rest of my School rugby team, I helped raise money for both Help for Heroes and the Teenager Cancer Trust as a part of our charity rugby tour to South Africa where we visited orphanages and townships as well as donating kit to a local side and running a coaching session with a local township side. Furthermore, in my gap year I spent two months working on a camp in Pennsylvania, USA for children with ADD/ADHD, Asperges and Autism. Taking care of seven boys aged thirteen to fifteen who were widely considered to be the most troublesome at the camp, provided an exceptionally difficult task but also improved my interpersonal skills both with my fellow counsellors and the boys in question as they were less than reasonable at times.

Pyramid Recruitment Services, Administration Assistant , Colchester, United Kingdom
January 2011 to June 2011
Although my job role was officially as an administration assistant, I worked as a pre-employment screener for Pyramid's client First Advantage. This involved working in a large team within our Colchester office, but also at times working with our Indian office as the team I was on was in a transition period taking on some of their work load. Towards the end of my employment, I was also training new employees as well as maintaining my workload that involved being one of the top two performers in the team. With this high performance came being entrusted with special tasks and cases that needed to be cleared up quickly.
I left my role so that I could take a few weeks to organise everything before going to America.
