Ethics Policy: A good working relationship should be more than just transactional. Because of this there are a few caveats relating to the type of organisations and clients I will indulge. Here is a short list of the kind of stuff I won't be involved with: defence and security contractors, covert discrimination, animal exploitation, veiled lobbying and shadow arts.

    Media relations and PR:
    Helping organisations develop complimentary media and stakeholder strategies.

    Social media:
    Providing social media training to local community groups and national charities, giving guidance on a wide range of digital channels in addition to integration strategies and ROI measures.

    Community Engagement:
    Working with environmental and sustainability groups in Hackney to set up a community vegetable growing scheme on the Pembury Estate.

    Copywriting and proofing:
    Working for a New York based communications agency; drafting copy for internal newsletters, stakeholder communications and proofing tender documents.

    Campaigns:
    Providing public affairs advice to charitable groups and local campaigners, online campaign support and guidance.

  • vInspired, Transition Team Member + Advisor

    April 2011 to October 2011

    Retained as an advisor while the charity went through a structural reorganisation. Duties included participating in government consultations, exploring new business opportunities for the charity and developing relationships.

    Part of the role involved participating in a group that selected a new model of youth involvement for the charity. Once the new model was selected our final task was to select our own replacements (the new Youth Advisory Board).

    Working with a broad range of clients from Fortune 500 listed companies to UK charities, technology start-ups and research bodies to deliver compelling and complimentary coverage in broadcast, print and online media.

    newsletter and cascade production, article writing for internal news systems, staff engagement surveys and strategic advice on new policy roll-out.

    Media relations:
    Securing coverage that supported clients campaigns in online, print and broadcast media. Creating press releases, sourcing supporting images and documents and liaising with spokespeople and journalists / media planners.

    Providing advice to clients on ways to increase user/customer engagement by developing content and engagement strategies.

    Involved in Model United Nations programme development and management for KS3/4 and further education students.

    The MUN programme went on to be featured in the Department for Education's report into 'Teaching approaches that help to build resilience to extremism among young people'.
