Our career paths fall into two main categories: actuarial consulting and Investment consulting.
If you are interested in being a consultant but don't want to train as an actuary, Investment Consulting (Manager Research or Client Consulting in particular), is the area you should consider.
If, however, you would like to train as an actuary then you should focus on the Benefits Group (Actuarial Consulting), Insurance & Financial Services (Actuarial Consulting) or Investment Consulting (you can pursue the actuarial qualification in any team but The Strategy Group spends the most time using mathematical modelling skills).
In all practice groups, we’re looking for people who are keen to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours that support our business strategy. Therefore, we expect you to be able to add value by thinking strategically about client issues and applying appropriate methodologies to resolve problems. You’ll need the flexibility to work well independently and in a team environment, as well as the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously, deliver quality work and consistently meet deadlines. It goes without saying that excellent all round communication skills – verbal, written and listening – are essential too.
