The diversity of Zurich’s portfolio, both geographically and by line of business, is key to their strategy. They offer a comprehensive range of general and life insurance products and services for individuals, small businesses, commercial enterprises, mid-sized and large corporations and multinational companies. The company headquarters are in Zurich, Switzerland, and they employ approximately 58,000 people serving customers in more than 150 countries. Founded in 1872, we have looked forward and outward since our very earliest days, when we were the first insurer in Switzerland to offer global insurance programs.
Over the years, we have spread our reach and now have a global network of subsidiaries and offices in North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America and other markets.
Working with Zurich
At Zurich, our approach to what we do is all about sharing goals, pulling in the same direction and working together to achieve collective success.
To do that, we’ve worked hard to introduce a consistent, shared culture – and that’s what makes us different from our competitors.
Our culture involves a set of values and ‘behaviours’ that we apply to everything we do, which will hopefully encourage people to buy our products and services.
Our culture involves us being:
fast moving – we take decisions promptly, keep it simple, display courage, stay ahead of the game
customer-centric – we relentlessly pursue true customer understanding, create win/win outcomes, encourage and reward behaviour that reinforces customer focus, live our brand value
results driven – we’re never satisfied, focus on continuous growth, welcome accountability and delegate authority, behave as if Zurich is our company, recognise and reward achievements rather than activity
innovative – we look to build on others’ ideas, learn and bounce back from failure, challenge the norm, recognise that innovation has many shapes and sizes, reward risk-takers
engaging – we listen and respond to other Zurich employees, use feedback and coaching effectively, look beyond the obvious contributors, share information.
Join Zurich, and it will be up to you to turn these words into actions, helping us become true leaders in our markets.

Welcoming new talent:
Seeing people develop and grow to fulfil their true potential is one of the most rewarding of management experiences. Zurich is a people business, employing a variety of different talents across a range of different roles, all with one common aim – to make Zurich successful.
At Zurich we look to hire great people and we encourage those people to give their best. We start by selecting people who demonstrate they have the skills, knowledge and experience to meet the demands of the role. Once on board, we provide an induction into the business to make sure people get the best possible start to their Zurich career. Our performance management programme is designed to encourage high levels of performance and to reward those who succeed.
We invest heavily in developing our people and their talent. Personal development plans are just one way of ensuring we treat people as individuals. We provide training and development opportunities through e-learning, classroom training and on the job experiences. This is often complemented by mentoring programmes that utilise the expertise of our senior people.
In a truly global company there are numerous possibilities for developing a professional career. Our job openings are posted on our intranet site and we actively look to identify people’s potential to progress using our Talent Book.
Whether it is through our Graduate Development Programme or our Futures Programme, our formal development programmes provide talented people with the support, the opportunity and the challenge they need to be successful. These programmes sit alongside a variety of training modules designed to develop the inter-personal, business, leadership and technical skills of our people.
Our continuous focus on leadership means that we continue to develop our senior managers by providing ongoing Coaching and programme support based on the needs of the individual.
We believe that, for those people with the attitude and ability to succeed, Zurich is a welcome change.
